Holy and Good Father,
Forgive me for setting my heart on the things of this world,
For defining myself by earthly standards and skills.
I repent from thinking on what is not of You,
And for reaching for my old, tattered garments.
Holy Spirit, make known to me the reality of who my Father is, and who I am in Him.
Send a burning discomfort to the areas of my life that are not in accordance with His will, so I may lay such things at the foot of Christ Jesus’ cross, and in turn receive mercy, grace and the freedom to be and do what you’ve called me to.
Father, I find no hope in my talents. I find nothing redeeming in my bones.
No job title, clout, fame, familial, relational or ministerial position can grant me a seat at your table — Jesus, your blood alone does that.
God, I find no peace in identifying with any movement, group, or person other than You. I find no rest apart from You.
In You I am secure and made whole, righteous and blameless.
In You I find purpose and joy because you are ever in me and by my side.
Lord, thank you that I am precious, pursued, honored, dearly loved, wanted and cherished by You.
In You, I am kind; I am patient and compassionate; I am gentle, and I am humble.
Because of Your Spirit in me, I am bold and diligent; I am forgiving and merciful, and my lips are drenched in wisdom.
Father, I believe you are who you say you are; I believe also I am who you say I am. For the doubt still lingering in my heart, give me faith.
You are a faithful friend and a good Father, and I believe you will withhold no good thing from me, as I walk uprightly.
I declare that I am a child of the Light, and today I will run and not grow weary.
I will set captives free and reconcile the lost and broken to you. I will live in Your Presence and from the overflow of Your Holy Spirit, I will move.
In Your Name,
So Be It.
As the Enemy increasingly unveils deception and confusion in this world, we must clothe ourselves in our true identity. We must go forth knowing who we are and who our God is so we can avoid enabling the darkness or succumbing to confusion. By knowing and declaring our identity through prayer and studying scripture, we will be more effective and powerful Christ followers who emit love, truth and hope everywhere we walk!
