"For I am convinced that neither life nor death, angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything in all of creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:39
My anxiety levels have been at an all time high the past couple weeks. The beginning of this new school year has left me physically and mentally drained. I've had knots in my stomach constantly because I've stressed about how much I have to do, and how little time I have to do it. I've spent more time worrying than studying. This fear has followed me around like a lost puppy, and I do not want to be its owner. However, one question keeps coming to my mind: does He really love me that much, even though He can see I'm struggling with this and isn't helping me?
Everyone has that one "thing". The thing that makes us feel unworthy and undeserving of a love beyond comprehension. Whether it's a crushed spirit, fractured heart, or self-consciousness, these lies consume our minds and can tear us apart quickly. But thankfully, our God is a God who loves us so immensely that he can't stand to see us sitting in a lie like that. He pursues our hearts and thoughts and tells us that He loves us, and loves us unconditionally. Everyday we are scattered with His grace, whether we realize it or not. Are you ready to bask in the richness of His love"
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds of their wounds." Psalm 147:3
This is a reminder that our Father's love is a healing love. Run to Him, accept His gift go love, and allow Him to heal your wounds. Our Creator is always seeking us. He knows every little detail about us, including how many hairs are on our head (Luke 12:7). Yet, we often assume that our problems are too big for Him or the opposite, that He is too great for our minuscule problems. We are just one in a few billion people so why would He care about us?Listen to Isaiah 49:16. It says,
"Behold, I have engraved your name on the plasm of my hands..."
Just when we think, "He can't possibly love us enough to solve my huge problems", He is whispering in our ear, "Your name was on my hands while I was on the cross." Jesus displays the craziest, most beautiful act of love in this (Romans 5:8). What other proof do we need? His selfless love fulfills all our needs. It has healed and continues to heal my heart and still my worries. Whenever you feel like your wold is spinning out of control, He is with you, holding your hand through it all.
I am going to leave you with a challenge: read Psalm 139. You've read it before? So? Read it again. Read it slowly and in silence, soak in every word. Spend time mediating on the passage as you go throughout your day - walking to class, at a practice, laying in bed at the end of the night. Drink up His words of truth, friends, and allow Him to show you how much He truly delights in you!
