God has been walking me through some heavy self-refinement and pruning away of the dead things I didn’t know I carried in my heart in the last year, drawing me closer to Him. In the brokenness, the turmoil, the uprooting, the change, the shock— He’s used all of it.

What the enemy meant to use for my destruction and downfall, God used to saturate my story with His fingerprint all over, reclaiming the messy-glory as His own and lifting me up to become the woman I am today.

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the
Lord will be a light to me.

Micah 7:8

I’ve been transitioning into a new church family. And change isn’t easy, but I was ready to get connected. I joined a women’s group, and we began studying Lisa Bevere’s Girls with Swords. These women have poured so much life into my dry bones—it has given me a wonder for how God can use community when our hearts are rooted in Him.

I don’t know who needs to read these words… but I need to tell you about the massive truths pounding heavy on this weary heart and how God has used this women’s group to lift me above my storms to see the way He does. I want to share. I can’t help but share. When God shows up to do ground-quaking soul shifting and you see the triumph-proclaiming fighting He does on your behalf so clearly, you can’t not want to scream the word “VICTORY!!” to anyone and everyone.

‘O death, where is your victory? O, death where is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin,
and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:55-58

So I’ll begin by saying this: you are a warrior-princess. You have God DNA intertwined into your very soul.

You have been fearfully and wonderfully made, and He knew you and all you’d do before you were even created (check out Psalm 139). The Father and the Holy Spirit and the Son are in awe of you. You, creation, lovely as ever and absolutely enough in His eyes.

Think about that. Really think about that.

You were created to bring glory to the Creator of star-dust galaxies, single piano tones, the hushed whispers of those you love and roaring oceans in darkest of nights. You have been entrusted with this life—all of it. He actually believes in you. He has put you exactly where you are to wage war on darkness by rising early and casting out the fear from your home and to pray for the friends who don’t want anything to do with this “Jesus-led” life you live. You’re here for coffee shop talks that finish up way after the coffee got cold, for words to spill out of others’ lips as frustrations pour out their hearts and to proclaim victory over every place your foot holds ground.

You are a warrior-princess.

Entrusted with the Holy Spirit to be more than a conqueror.

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died — more than that, who was raised
    — who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate
us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or danger, or sword? …No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
    through him who loved us.

Romans 8: 34-35, 37

To stand tall when winds rage and your future looks uncertain. When decisions about school and life and love come so close without warning, you’re ten inches away from breaking.

You win battles by choosing trust over fear, love over jealousy, peace over stress, surrender over control. Because when He is in it, it somehow all works out. When you seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33), you shake heaven and earth in such a gloriously-mundane way, you may not think you’ve really done anything—but you have. We don’t battle against flesh and blood.

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the
weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and
take every thought captive to obey Christ…

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

You are a warrior, dressed in armor, wielding a sword so mighty and so powerful, it’s two-edged (Hebrews 4:12). Fierce. It’s more than you can ever imagine and more than you’ll ever fully comprehend here on Earth. The words you speak into existence and the smallest of sacrifices you make that nobody will ever see or hear— He does. And all of heaven rejoices and dances with you, mourns with you, is stirred with you, reaches with you and basks in His presence with you.

Daughter, you are so delighted in you cannot imagine the depths of His great, never-ending, grace-abounding, fiercely-sought after love for you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:16-17

So whether you find yourself camping out in hell for way longer than you thought, wishing things could be different, or if you’re letting the lies of shame bleed into your thoughts, telling you you should be over this by now, or if you’re scared of uncertainty… Or maybe you’re on mountains so vast and beautiful, you float through your days, and maybe you cling to His presence in the quiet and soak up the peace and smile with the angels as you sing songs of joy… whatever and wherever you find yourself, know this: you are a warrior-princess.

And the Warrior of all and everything fights on your behalf.

For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies,
    to give you the victory.

Deuteronomy 20:4

Always.

Forever.

Because you are His.
