Endurance: ability or strength to continue despite fatigue, stress, or adverse conditions.

When I read the definition of endurance, I begin to question myself. Do I endure through the pain, the mockery, the judgment, and the questioning of this world? When people question my morals, my faith, and my religion, do I boldly speak the name of the Lord or do I retreat and hide within myself?

Endurance takes confidence, it takes courage, and it takes a mental realization that YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH.

This year at Passion 2017, Christine Caine gave a marvelous lesson on the act of endurance. Our mission on earth is not to save every human (because we can’t). Our mission is to fulfill faith in our generation by:

--Humbling Ourselves

--Being Patient

--Prioritizing

--Loving People Well

--Dying to Self

--Being Filled with Grace

--Living for the Glory of God Alone

This mission will be hard. This mission will have trials. But you are not alone. The same spirit that rose Jesus from the dead lives inside of you and me.

When you see a trial, hardship, or difficult conversation before you, don’t try and take it in all at once. This life is a marathon, not a sprint.

We are not running for a victory but from a victory. Jesus has already died and rose from the grave. HE HAS WON! We have the victory so there is no reason to worry, but we must have endurance.

"Therefore since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and protector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." // Hebrews 12:1-2

The baton has now been passed to us to teach and set an example for our generation.

Will we mess up? YES

Will we make mistakes? YES

Will the Lord still guide us every step of the way? ABSOLUTELY

Having endurance checks motives. Why are you doing what you are doing? Are you living for the Lord, or are you living for yourself?

If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care — then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

"My dear, dear friends! I love you so much. I do want the very best for you. You make me feel such joy, fill me with such pride. Don't waver. Stay on track, steady in God." // Philippians 4

Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t live with selfish ambitions but with a Godly ambition. That means putting God's will before your own.

Let us gather together as believers and run this race with ENDURANCE. Be an example. Let your light shine. Don’t be afraid to tell others about Jesus. Don’t slow down, never stop, just keep going.
