Three Daily Habits To Follow

“Life’s tough, get a helmet.” - Eric Matthews (Boys Meets World)

Most of us can say that our parents would always tell us to wear a helmet when we would go off bike riding. We probably would question- “why? why wear a helmet? I’ll be fine out there.” But, parents know better then to let their child off to the the unknown without something to protect themselves. See our parents love us so much that they don’t want anything bad to happen to us while riding in the world. I believe that God is the same way to all his children and like any parent He wants to protect His children.

God is an amazing Father that loves all His children so much that He gave us a helmet...

The Gospel.

“This is my comfort and consolation in my affliction: that Your word has revived me and given me life.” Psalm 119:50

He gives us a helmet so we can protect ourselves from the unknown. Let’s be honest, we have no clue of the future, but when we put on your helmets everyday (read the Gospel) we can protect ourselves from what’s to come - good or bad. However, in today’s society we need to make a daily habit of putting our helmets.

Three daily habits:

1. Trust In God

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

If you desire to be in a godly lifestyle, know that you’re not alone in the darkness, God will light your path. God is all knowing and He takes care of His children. So don’t worry about if you’re going to meet “ the one” OR if you’re going to get the job or internship. Yes, God will work wonders in your life, but dwell on the overall photo, and that is your heavenly Father and Jesus, knowing that He is taking care of every detail in your life from beginning to end.

2. Read The Gospel

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Life is an amazing gift that our Father has blessed us with, yet we have moments where we are riding and hit a road block. We automatically come to a stop and question: “wait or go the short way?”. This road block is just a test, in which we have to seek wisdom. Blessed by our Father we can seek wisdom in the gospel that can guide us to make the right choices.

3. Pray For Protection

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3

As children of God, sometimes it can be hard for most of us to open up and ask for protection. But, I’m telling you that God is your best friend. He is easier to talk then anyone. So, find your quiet place and have that moment with God. Ask Him to keep on protecting from the evil and shine your path away from darkness. But, we must remember that we live in a fallen world where we have have free will and most of the time what God is protecting us from we will not understand till time.

I hope that this blog post has helped you and I pray that God does wonders in your life. Keep following your purpose that God has placed in your heart.
