The Two Hottest Fall Accessories
Now that fall has officially begun, it is time to put away our easy, breezy summer clothes and
get out our more substantial (depending on where you live) fall gear. And the question that
arises with the change of every season is what is the accessory to wear this year? Will it be
trench coats? Are shoulder pads, please no, making a comeback this fall? Do I need to go out
and buy a quirky yet trendy piece of clothing that I will only feel confident wearing because
it is celebrity endorsed or literally everywhere?
Here's the two accessories I think are absolutely necessary for this upcoming season:
This fall, and every fall, really every season, let the accessory to beat be righteousness. Isaiah
61:10 says, “I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me
with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom
adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” So instead of
worrying about what was designated as the new trend at fashion week this year, delight
yourself in your Father who covers you in His love, who gifts you with His goodness because
you are His beautiful child. When we hold on to what the Lord is giving us, the worries of the
world lose their hold on us.
Now that we are walking around with the righteousness the Lord bestows on us on our
shoulders, we have every reason to walk in the confidence that we are His beloved creation.
Whether we are having a bad day, we are not living up to our own expectations, or we
simply do not feel good enough, the Lord, our God, calls us to put confidence in Him because
He is always good. Despite how unsteady our lives may be the Lord is constantly there for us,
He is our Rock and our Refuge. When we don’t feel like we are enough, He always is.
“I am glad I can have complete confidence in you.” // 2 Corinthians 7:16
With these two items, every day will be your day because you will be wearing the only label
you need: Daughter of the one true King.
