FAQ


+ Who can apply for the position?

Anybody with a 4-year college degree. We strongly prefer applicants to have Delight Leadership experience. 

+ When will the program begin and end?

The employment term begins August 1, 2017 and runs until May 31, 2018. Prior to August 1, you are expected to raise 100% of your funds for the position. With that said, there is extensive pre-work and training in preparation for the position. 

+ Will I get to choose what region I'm placed in?

The application asks you to give us your top 3 cities in order of preference that you would be willing to live in, including whether or not you are willing to relocate. We will do our best to place you within your top requested region, but this is not guaranteed. Regional Director assignments are made based on the needs of the organization.

+ Is this a paid position?

All Regional Directors will raise their own support before the program begins on August 1, 2017. The amount to be raised ranges on the needs of each individual RD and region. It typically falls anywhere from $30,000-$40,000. Each Regional Director works with the Delight HQ team to determine an appropriate budget for the employment term. Delight HG will also provide support raising training, coaching, and resources along the way. 

+ What will my support raising cover? 

Your support raising will cover a living stipend, costs of traveling, and any necessary program materials. 

+ Can I work and be a Regional Director at the same time?

The Regional Director role is a full-time employment position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week in order to fulfill the obligations of the job. 

+ Will Delight provide housing? 

All Regional Directors will be required to live in their assigned region. RD's may choose to live at home, live with a host family, or raise the support to cover housing costs. 

+ What does a typical day on the job look like?  

No day will look the same! Regional Directors will be responsible for a variety of tasks each week and will need to be comfortable and flexible with change. You will spend the majority of your time forming relationships and mentoring Delight leaders. You will travel and visit each chapter. You will be in charge of various administrative tasks like book sales and chapter upkeep in our database. You will host leadership training retreats and need to be very well-versed in all Delight resources. You will be in communication with Delight HQ. Finally, you will also leave plenty of space for personal devotional and spiritual growth. 

+ How much traveling is involved?

Travel time will vary throughout the year. Regional Directors can expect to be on the road for a total of at least six weeks during the months of September, October, November, February and March. The other months will involve less travel, but these months will include increased communication through other channels. You will visit each of your assigned chapters at least once during the program.  The frequency of chapter visits will depend on the number of chapters in your region and the total range of miles included in the region.

+ How many Delight chapters will I be in charge of? 

Around 15-25. This number has the potential to change depending on the number of Regional Directors selected as well as the amount of chapters that will begin in the fall of 2018. 

+ When is the deadline to apply? 

December 1, 2017 at midnight.

Applications must be received no later than December 1, 2017.  Interviews will begin in mid-December and continue until all positions have been filled.
