The Storm

I am in the midst of a storm full of unanswered questions and uneasiness. However, as this school year comes to a close, I am full of joy because the approach I have to the struggles of today is evidence of the growth in my faith. Instead of running from His arms, I am running towards the peace of His presence and yearning to feel Him in the stillness. God has led me through some sweet times of prayer and fellowship with Him, and He sits with me through it all. Though life is crazy and this world is broken, I find peace in knowing that the Lord is sovereign and trusting in His will.

At a recent church service, I was feeling overwhelmed by struggles and my brokenness, and God spoke directly to my heart through worship. He told me that He’s never going to let me down and through all my unanswered questions, I should rest in knowing that He has the answers and will provide them in His perfect timing. He let me know that He is the healer, the source of all comfort; through His comforting character, we are given the ability to comfort others.

In every moment, God knows your heart and how you’re feeling. He hurts for His children, and He wants us to come to Him to heal and be restored. He wants us to trust Him with our life and He has given us more than enough reasons to do that.

Through this all, I have realized that faith is not merely believing, but trusting even when the outcome is unknown. Right now, there are loose ends but I know that Christ will tie them in His time, that He will use these moments for good. The future is hazy but the Lord has led me to submit all my plans to Him and I have faith in His sovereignty.

So, my prayer for everyone who is struggling with one thing or another is that you press into the Lord during it, rather than letting it overwhelm you. He promises peace in Him and to provide us with the strength and hope for today. I pray that your one desire is to walk next to the Lord and to keep Him the main thing. Focus on His promises and His unconditional love, remember how He came to walk into the garden to find Adam and Eve. Though the world is broken, He is coming to restore it and bring His kingdom. I pray that you rest in His goodness and that you bring your doubt and questions before Him for He will answer in His timing. I pray that you know you are never alone in the storm.

Rest in knowing that He will never let you down.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
