WHAT IS THE
Leadership Development Program
The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a 10-month ministry and leadership experience designed for recent college graduates who want to grow in their relationship with Jesus, develop as leaders, and gain hands-on ministry experience.
Women in the program serve as Regional Directors (RDs), where they coach, disciple, and support Delight student leaders and chapters across an assigned region. Throughout the year, RDs work remotely, travel to college campuses, build relationships with leaders, and help strengthen and grow Delight communities across the country.
But LDP is about more than what you accomplish — it’s about who you become along the way. Through intentional discipleship, leadership development, professional skill-building, ministry experience, and community, LDP is an opportunity to spend a year living on mission while being equipped for wherever God calls you next.
Why spend the year as an RD?
The LDP is designed to develop the whole leader — spiritually, personally, and practically.
Throughout your 10 months as a Regional Director, you'll be intentionally invested in through three areas of development: Spiritual Formation, Personal Formation, and Ministry + Field Leadership Experience.
You'll deepen your relationship with Jesus through rhythms of Sabbath, prayer, solitude, community, and discipleship. You'll grow in self-awareness and leadership through assessments, counseling, monthly leadership teachings, and hands-on projects. And you'll gain real ministry experience by coaching student leaders, receiving feedback and mentorship, visiting chapters, planning retreats, collaborating with Delight HQ, and leading within your region.
This isn't just a year to serve Delight — it's a year to be developed. Our hope is that you finish LDP more rooted in Jesus, more confident in who He's created you to be, and equipped to faithfully lead wherever God calls you next.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a good fit for the Leadership Development Program?
The LDP is designed for women who love Jesus, love Delight, and are eager to spend a year intentionally growing as leaders while investing in the next generation of Delight.
We’re looking for women who are excited to live on mission, disciple and develop college women, travel, build relationships, and be part of a close-knit team. You don’t have to have everything figured out or feel completely “ready.” We’re looking for women who are teachable, faithful, responsible, and willing to grow.
Ideal applicants have been involved with Delight for at least one year and have a desire to grow personally, spiritually, and professionally through the program.
What does a Regional Director actually do?
Regional Directors are the primary coaches, mentors, and ministry support for Delight chapters within an assigned region.
Throughout the year, RDs build relationships with student leaders, disciple and encourage them, help strengthen the health of their chapters, support chapter growth, and provide hands-on ministry support. This happens through regular communication, one-on-one conversations, virtual meetings, chapter visits, regional gatherings, and retreats.
RDs also work remotely throughout the week, collaborate closely with the RD and HQ teams, and help execute different Delight initiatives throughout the year.
At the heart of the role is relationship: walking alongside college women as they lead, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and build Christ-centered community on their campuses.
How much do Regional Directors travel?
Travel is a significant part of the Regional Director experience!
RDs have the opportunity to visit all of their assigned chapters during the fall semester and approximately 50–70% of their chapters during the spring semester. The amount and type of travel will vary depending on your region.
Some regions require more driving, while others require a combination of driving and flying. Because of this, applicants should be comfortable with frequent travel, driving longer distances, and navigating a flexible schedule.
Travel is typically heavier during the fall semester and becomes more modified during the spring.
What does support raising look like?
Regional Directors raise financial support before beginning their year with Delight. You do not need previous fundraising experience to participate in the program!
Throughout the support-raising process, you’ll receive hands-on coaching, resources, tools, and a database to help you build and communicate with your support team. Our team will walk alongside you throughout the process so you aren't figuring it out alone.
Support raising primarily takes place during the summer before RD Training and Delight Conference in August.
More than simply raising funds, this is an opportunity to invite people into what God is doing through Delight and build a community of people who are praying for and investing in your year of ministry.
Can I be married and participate in the program?
Yes! We have had married women serve as Regional Directors, and marriage does not automatically prevent someone from participating in the LDP.
Because the RD role includes travel, potential relocation, and a unique ministry schedule, we encourage married applicants to consider the commitment alongside their spouse throughout the application process. Our team is happy to talk through individual circumstances and what participation could look like for you and your family.
Where will I live?
We view the LDP as a 10-month year on mission, which means many Regional Directors relocate for the duration of the program.
RD regions are determined each year based on where Delight chapters are located and how those campuses can best be supported. Regions may include areas such as California, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and others.
During the application process, you'll be able to share the locations and regions you would be open to moving to. If you have specific circumstances that require you to remain in a particular area, you can communicate that with our team, and we will do our best to take those circumstances into consideration.
In some cases, an RD may also be assigned to serve within the region where she already lives.
What training and development will I receive?
Leadership development is a major part of the LDP — we're not only investing in what you do as an RD, but in who you are becoming as a leader and follower of Jesus.
Regional Directors receive three in-person training and development experiences throughout the year, creating opportunities to gather with the RD team and Delight HQ.
Throughout the 10-month program, RDs also participate in ongoing development centered around three key areas:
Personal Leadership Formation — growing in self-awareness, spiritual health, character, and your relationship with Jesus.
Leadership & Professional Skill-Building — developing practical skills that will serve you in ministry, the workplace, and wherever God leads you next.
Ministry & Field Leadership — learning how to disciple leaders, strengthen chapters, navigate ministry challenges, and lead effectively within your region.
You'll receive ongoing coaching, resources, team development, spiritual investment, and opportunities to learn from experienced leaders throughout the year.
What does a typical week look like?
One of the unique parts of being an RD is that every week can look a little different.
When you're home, you'll typically work remotely Monday through Friday. Your week may include connecting with student leaders, one-on-one discipleship, team meetings, prayer, leadership development, planning chapter visits, completing projects, and collaborating with Delight HQ.
During travel weeks, your schedule shifts toward being in the field. You may be driving or flying to campuses, attending Delight gatherings, spending time with leadership teams, encouraging chapters, and getting an up-close look at what God is doing across your region.
The role requires someone who can thrive with both structure and flexibility — taking ownership of her responsibilities while adapting to the changing rhythms of ministry and travel.
What kind of leader are you looking for?
We're looking for servant-hearted leaders who genuinely love Jesus and want their lives to make an impact.
The strongest RDs aren't necessarily the loudest, most experienced, or most naturally gifted leaders. We're looking for women who demonstrate:
A genuine and growing relationship with Jesus
Humility and teachability
Faithfulness and responsibility
Self-motivation and initiative
A heart for discipleship and pastoral leadership
A willingness to receive feedback and grow
Flexibility and resilience
A desire to develop other leaders
A willingness to go the distance for their region and team
A genuine love for Delight and its mission
We want women who are ready to be all in — women who will faithfully steward the leaders, campuses, and relationships entrusted to them while allowing God to develop them in the process.
What is the time commitment?
The Leadership Development Program is a 10-month commitment from August through May.
Being a Regional Director is designed to be a significant focus during that season. Between remote work, leader meetings, chapter support, travel, training, and ministry responsibilities, applicants should enter the program ready to fully engage in the experience.
The rhythm changes throughout the year — some seasons involve significantly more travel, while others include more remote work and leadership development — but RDs should expect to consistently invest in their region, team, and personal development throughout the program.
What happens after I apply?
After applications close, selected applicants will move into our interview process. Interviews give our team an opportunity to learn more about you, your relationship with Jesus, your experience with Delight, your leadership journey, and why you're interested in spending a year serving as a Regional Director.
It's also an opportunity for you to discern the program. We want you to have space to ask questions and understand the commitment, expectations, support raising, travel, relocation, and day-to-day realities of being an RD.
Additional details about the 2027–2028 interview and selection process will be communicated directly to applicants.
When does the program begin?
The LDP runs from August through May, with support raising and preparation beginning during the summer before the official program year.
Before the year begins, Regional Directors come together in Tennessee for in-person training and Delight Conference. This time helps prepare you for your region, build relationships with your RD team and HQ staff, and establish the foundation for the year ahead.
What happens after the LDP?
Our hope is that you leave the LDP more deeply rooted in Jesus, more confident in who He's created you to be, and better equipped to lead wherever He calls you next.
RDs leave with hands-on experience in discipleship, leadership development, communication, ministry, problem-solving, team collaboration, fundraising, and organizational leadership.
For women who thrive in the program and want to continue serving Delight, there may also be opportunities to explore a second year as a Regional Director.
What might God do with
a year of your yes?
You could spend the next 10 months helping college women know Jesus more deeply—and discover how He’s growing you along the way. We’d be honored to get to know you.
